Scheduling a Certification Exam

Once you have decided which ETA certification(s) you would like to take, find an ETA test site near you to take the exam. If there is not a test site near you, then you can arrange to take an exam at a local library.

Next, you must decide whether to take the exam online with FreedomTest or on paper. A Certification Administrator must be present no matter which method of testing you select. You will then need to schedule a time to take the exam with your chosen Certification Administrator.

Exam Day:

• You must present a valid photo ID and payment in order to sit for the exam.
• You may use scratch paper, but it must be turned in with your examination.
• A non-programmable calculator is permitted.
• Please turn off all cell phones, tablets, etc.

You will be given two hours per exam if needed (FCC Element 1 Exam must be taken in one hour)

Once you have completed the exam, the Certification Administrator will submit your exam and information along with payment to ETA for processing. You can view online test results immediately after submitting the test. You can also request exam results for paper tests and order ETA exam reviews (subject to availability).
